Black Money, Evils and Honest PM
The government at the centre told the Supreme Court that it has the details of the persons who have ill-gotten wealth stashed away in tax havens but that it doesn’t want to reveal them. The court asked the government, “What is the nature of the difficulty in revealing the names?” One reason for the government may be technical. It has not yet signed the UN treaty on ill-gotten hoarding in tax havens. Without signing this treaty, the Indian government will find difficulty in getting information on black money hoarders abroad in the future if it now reveals the names. The solution is simple: sign the UN treaty forthwith and pave the way for a solution to this humungous illegal stash and punish these illegal hoarders who have bludgeoned the economics and politics for decades, apart from getting the billions.
The second may be political reasons. By revealing the names maybe some political bigwigs’ heads may roll, damaging the ruling party, its and the stability of the government at the center. So be it!
Dr. Singh the honest PM is now at the helm defending the corrupt. People have given the mandate of the PM’s chair to do the duty with responsibility and accountability. It Dr. Singh feels he is not able to carry on his job honestly he should call it a day. For the party’s interest he should not damage the country’s image and promote governance deficit by sticking to the chair and defending the wrong. The PMO must reveal the names of the swindlers for ending the corruption in the country. Bring the billions hoarded abroad and reduce the high burden of multiple taxes on the low and middle income earnings.
Dr. Manmohan Singh is an economist. He knows well what means growth with equity and what just normal growth is. Corruption is hurting the middle class. Black money is making uncomfortable every class.
Ann Hazare’s agitation against corruption had to be resorted to in order to get the government working. Now the million Anna Hazares have taken birth, including the youth. Politicians wanted youth to join politics. Anna Hazare, Baba Ramdev and Shri Shri Ravi Shanker have done it. They have inspired a million youth t ofight against the corrupt and cleanse the society. A million revolution has begun. If persons like Dr. Singh don’t act at the right time to bring in clean governance for too long, the next round of agitation will be for the black money cleansing and the next will be for ousting the honest PM Dr. Singh who is serving the cause of dishonesty. Dr. Singh watch out!
