Narayana Murthy of Infosys a well respected Corporate Leader  has been quoted in ET ” Both the national parties BJP and Congress are not secular ” He has just said the obvious but the timing of his statement clearly reflects the mood among the not so crony business class. At the same breadth Murthy says both Rahul  and Modi can take India ahead through development. That’s a bit diplomatic.

Modi has proved he can deliver through his Gujarat development model as a CM and hence effuses confidence  to deliver equally at a national level with local variation given a chance. Rahul  of Congress on the other hand has been eschewing responsibility even while harping on the need to change systems and  provide so called inclusive growth. Rahul and Modi comparison to deliver equally well falls flat given the facts nowpresent and of the past nine years of Congress led governance at the center mired in scams. scandals and policy paralysis. The non secular aspects of both BJP and others too are are quite different in a way.

Presently those political parties heavily dependent on Muslim votes for survival as well for  increasing their seats have a clear vested interest in keeping the voters polarized. BJP’s Modi has moved  away from the Communal color and has largely succeeded in Gujarat by seeing to it that many Muslim Candidates get elected at various local body election on BJP’s Party Symbol. He may repeat at the national level though not in hard core pockets of ghettoized  Muslims which the Psuedo secular brigade wants to continue milking through unrealistic promises of hope and dream.

Thus though BJP and Modi wants to move away from polarisation other parties like SP, Congress and JD(U) are blocking the BJP space on this front to move on. While Modi clearly wants to empower all at the bottom with the government playing the role of facilitator the Muslim voter dependent parties are promising entitlements to minorities of government largesse.

For example the job quota assurance to Muslims, in Government. This is a great attraction to the deprived section of the Muslim population to vote in blocks to the leader who promises them a government job. It;s a great hope to better economic conditions once a government job lands in a poor Muslim’s  Family. But can it happen and should it happen.

The Constitution has clearly prohibited job quota in Government based on Religion. But Muslim vote bank politicians time and again before election promise this to the gullible voters and get elected and the promise remains an unfulfilled  one given the Constitutional position  of jobs in Government. Its’ high time the Election Commission cancel the registration  the political paries who take an unconstitutional position to win elections. One can’t just keep silence in the knowledge that post  election the courts and the Constitutional provisions will take care. Why allow the unscrupulous leader  to garner votes on the basis of a promise that’s ultra vires the Constitution  per se.That’s corrupt electoral practice too. The EC is Constituionally bound to conduct fair and free elections to strengthen  democratic and secular values enshrined in our Constitution

Election Commission should veto those unconstitutional promises in the party manifestos for electoral gains and let free and fair secular values take front seat in electoral politics. Time again it has come to the notice that parties competing for Muslim votes indulge in Competetive Muslim job quota promises which is blatantly unconstitutional but yet allowed to carry on without restraint . Post elections the Muslim organisation also egg on the Muslim vote bank politicians to deliver. That is they expect these leaders who got elected on Muslim votes to go ahead and pass the Uncomstitutional law favouring Muslims against the letter and spirit of the Constituiton.

So secularism politics for Muslim leaders  is not just confined to practice of religious freedom but interfering with  the Constitution of its letter and spirit. Many Muslim Vote bank leaders have attempted  job quota for  backward Muslim . Then the question will arise why not for Hindu backward. The argument that Muslims are less represented, therefore the jobs to Muslims in government must be encouraged. Agreed. But Reservation on religious grounds is not the answer.

Many from the bottom of  Muslim Community attend Religious schools Madrassaa ,hence their employability becomes questionable. Even a reasonable liberal  concession and grace marks at the State Level and National level  examination for government jobs will not help them to clear unless a strong foundation is created in Maths and Science which education is disregarded  in these religious educational institutions.Incomplete education mars the chance of employability in administration and economic units.

Muslim Job quota politics must end. Empowerment through right and reasoned based education at the bottom of the pyramid alone can improve  capabilty to become an economic agent in the administrative process of government. Government of the future can only succeed if they are facilators in the long run .

Modi and BJP are moving on to this model of future governance. All pseudo secularists who are dreaming to continue to build their political empire ultra vires the Constitution should see the writings on the wall and pursue policies of empowerment and not hope in vain to one day break the Constitutional fortress on Religious job quota and rule in chaos as hitherto. Future of India must be shaped on Empowermet of the vulnerable and not unsustainable and bloating entitlements or religious job quotas. Those who promise to better the 18crore Muslims should sound honest enough. That lies not in empowerment through education and skill development. Maximalist position of the Securist must end for empowerment politics to march on. Endless political Coalitions are possible for polical stabilty and economic gains for India as a whole based on development politics.
