MINISTER KAPIL RUBS SALT ON THE WOUNDS

After the barbaric and shameful act of police lathi-charge on Baba Ramdev and his followers on that night, minister Kapil Sibal came around on the national T.V. and justified the actions stating various reasons, which of course were quite unconvincing. He also concluded by saying, “This is a lesson for everybody.”

The minister owes an explanation to the people, what he means by this. Does it mean that any peaceful protests by citizens for right policies, democratically, will be dealt with brutality by government to quell it? Is the minister Kapil Sibal intend to instil fear in the minds of the common people by his utterances? The minister owes an apology to the nation and should withdraw the statement on the national T.V. channel immediately.

Minister Kapil Sibal should remember that he is a minister in a democratic setup and not in a dictatorial regime. The mind-set of the Congress minister if doesn’t change, people will be provoked into the realms of violence.

Constitution of India doesn’t allow any minister to make such provoking, mindless and authoritarian statements. It is even cruel when it comes from the minister, just when people have suffered the brutal lathi charge for no fault of theirs. The minister should not have rubbed salt on the wounds of innocent citizens.

Minister Kapil Sibal may be learned but he should not arrogate himself through mindless utterings and provoke people. Apologize to the nation, minister Kapil Sibal for peace sake.
