In few words …….. PM Dr Singh should go for of his silence and inaction at the appropriate time. In our parliamentary democracy our Constitution clearly provides thus. The elected members of the  Loksabha elect the PM. The PM then chooses the ministers. And the ministers continue to occupy their offices at the pleasure of the PM. Meaning  the Minister continues as minister as long as he is found to be worthy of his position by the PM.

In Raja’s case the PM himself was aware of Raja ignoring his worthy suggestions . Again, some MP’s letters written to PM  to sack or prosecute Raja should have also alerted the PM to take swift action at the appropriate time against Raja.  This  surely would have spared  the enormous  loss to the nation on account of the criminal misappropriation of the scarce 2G spectrum.

But our PM carrying the honest and clean image tag ,chose to be silent and not act. This inaction is surely an act of negligence. It finally proved to be a clear facilitator  to the  criminal misappropriation of  nation’s wealth in lacs of Crores

Mere displeasure shown at Rajs’s way of exercising his powers without stopping him from defying the rules, laws and propriety speaks of the inability and the criminal negligence of the PM that helped Raja to continue to perpetrate the crime right under the nose of the PM.The PM’s inaction doesn’t absolve him of the criminality involved in the 2G spectrum sale.

Compulsions of coalition politics do not grant the license to misappropriate nation’s wealth  to save the government or a particular political party .

In short the PM must go for his criminal negligence and the court must punish the high and the low involved in this shameful act of criminal 2G spectrum sale. These and these alone can restore the faith of the people on the democratic institutions of our country.
