High profile Coaching institutes are selling dreams to a sizable chunk of students aspiring to get into prestigious IITs and Medical colleges, doing not enough with sincerity and dedication to improve students’ domain knowledge to write these highly competitive exams. Marketing gimmicks, manipulation of the system , heavy advertisements claiming great performances by their students to lure  to get into their institutes  promising high scores to all and sundry have become the order of the day.

Reality bites after a year in these institutes and many students and parents feel they are taken for a ride by these Branded classes and students are left in the lurch.Aspiring innocent students have no where to go and many are depressed ,stressed and now number  of students visiting psychiatrists for help ,months before  exams is increasing. This is the saga of of these Branded Coaching Classes doing disservice to aspiring engineers and doctors year after year . What’s to be done ?

Regulation seems to be the answer. These Coaching Institutes must be mandated by a regulatory rule to display on their web sites names of all the students along side, their entry level marks at board exams and the marks obtained at subsequent Board and Entrance exams for IIT and Medical field.

This Transparency will help students and parents to take informed decisions and the best in the field  only will be rewarded through increased enrollment Ministry of Education should step in quickly to stem this rot in the field of science education.
