TOI distorts the news and presents to its readers the murder of an IT manager in Pune.

The news is one Mohsin Sheikh was murdered by an outfit known as Mumbai Hindu Rashtra Sena for posting derogatory remarks on Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Sambhaji Maharaj and Bal Thackeray on Face Book.

TOI reports on page 13 Mohsin was murdered by Hindu outfit.In the previous lines Shashi Tharoor has been quoted as saying ,seven Hindutva activists lynched a textile company manager. Both TOI and Shashi Tharoor fail to take the Hindu Rashtra Sena ‘s name and leave it to the imagination of its readers who these Hindutva activists could be. Obviously the first names that comes to readers mind when Hindutva is uttered is one of these BJP, Shiv Sena or RSS. Shiv Sena spokesperson has denied any knowledge of this Hindu Rashtra Sena.

Surprisingly Mumbai Mirror from the Times Stable reports correctly. TOI readers beware of this distortion the paper can do on incidents like these and keep readers misinformed to toe a particular propaganda line.
